Solutions to help people in need
Sumathi Memorial Trust (SMT) was founded in 2017 in the loving memory of Mrs. Sumathi Velumani, the co-creator of Thyrocare, who passed away in early 2016 due to late-diagnosed pancreatic cancer. Her untimely loss deeply moved her family, especially Dr. A. Velumani, who established this trust to honor her life and values by giving back to society.

Caring for Orphans, the Elderly, and Destitutes
Caring for orphans, the elderly, and destitutes is a profound expression of compassion and humanity that nurtures the most vulnerable members of society. Orphans, often stripped of familial support, need not only basic necessities but also love and guidance to help them thrive. The elderly, with their rich life experiences, deserve respect and dignity, alongside proper care that ensures their well-being and connection to the community. Meanwhile, destitutes face daily struggles for survival and stability, requiring comprehensive support systems that address their immediate needs and empower them to rebuild their lives.
Our services
Education for the Underprivileged
Education for the underprivileged is a powerful catalyst for social change, breaking the cycle of poverty and opening doors to opportunities that can transform lives. Providing access to quality education equips marginalized individuals with essential skills and knowledge, fostering critical thinking and empowering them to pursue their aspirations. It not only enhances their prospects for stable employment but also cultivates informed citizens who can advocate for their communities. By investing in educational initiatives for underprivileged groups, we promote equality and social justice, ensuring that every child, regardless of their background, has the chance to realize their potential and contribute positively to society.

Skilling the Uneducated
Skilling the uneducated is a vital step toward fostering economic independence and social mobility in underserved communities. By providing access to vocational training and practical skills development, we empower individuals to gain the competencies needed for stable employment and self-sufficiency. This approach not only enhances their employability but also boosts their confidence and self-esteem, enabling them to contribute to their families and communities. Furthermore, skill development can stimulate local economies, creating a ripple effect that benefits society as a whole. Investing in skilling programs ultimately bridges the gap between potential and opportunity, paving the way for a brighter future for both individuals and their communities.
